Performance: It's the Thought That Counts

On October 1st, 2020, Kunstnernes Hus was supposed to mark its 90th anniversary with a large-scale celebration. All artists based in Norway were on the invitation list. But unfortunately, due to current circumstances, the party had to be postponed. However, the entertainment for the evening, a commissioned work by artists Siri Hjorth and Sebastian Kjølaas, was performed as planned.

Behind Fadlabi's The Onset of Vertigo

The Onset of Vertigo is the title of the monumental floor painting made by the Norwegian Sudanese artist Fadlabi dedicated to Kunstnernes Hus’ small-scale 90thcelebratory exhibition (05.06.20-12.08.20). Inspired by 90 years of history, Fadlabi establishes an inverted dialogue with Per Krohg’s ceiling fresco from Kunstnernes Hus’ iconic staircase.

Explore Mari Slaattelid - Stempel

Since the 1990s, Mari Slaattelid has been one of the most prominent Norwegian painters, with a sharp eye for painting's possibilities and limitations. Her solo exhibition Template (28.02.20-19.07.20) presented a new body of work produced especially for Kunstnernes Hus, in dialogue with older pieces.
