Kunstnernes Hus Cinema
Kunstnernes Hus Cinema opened in 2016 as Oslo’s first independent cinema. It is part of the artist-owned foundation Kunstnernes Hus and located on our first floor.
The program is curated with a cross-disciplinary and genre-critical approach, always placing the artist at the centre. We screen a wide spectrum of contemporary independent and artist films and arrange talks, lectures and curatorial collaborations. We emphasise artistic boldness and genre-bending formats as well community-building across disciplines and generations.
So many artists look best in a place like this, as opposed to being projected in a gallery. I’m very happy to see this place.
Program
Our regular program is curated by the head of program Silja Espolin Johnson together with a program council consisting of:
Ulrik Eriksen (film critic at Morgenbladet and initiator of the cinema at Kunstnernes Hus), Maria Moseng (film critic, research fellow in film studies at the University of Oslo, former editor at WUXIA), Sara Eliassen (filmmaker and visual artist) and Maria Fosheim Lund (research librarian at the National Library).

Terms of purchase
Buying our cinema tickets is safe and efficient. You may do so here on our website or on eBillett.
Please note that purchased tickets are non-refundable. Only members of Kunstnernes Hus can exchange tickets for another screening if the same film is shown several times. In this case, contact post@kunstnerneshus.no.
In the case of a cancelled event, guests may choose to either get a refund for their tickets or a voucher for a different screening.
The terms of purchase terms apply at the time the cinema ticket is purchased. Kunstnernes Hus Kino reserves the right to change these terms.
