How Long Does a Drop Last?

This collaborative exhibition explores installation through distinct yet complementary artistic practices rooted in natural materials and processes. Gulliksen presents selected work from a sequence of lithographs, an edition with multiple variations in layering and colour. They will be presented in a circular formation, installed under changing light. She will also present a video from the fluid drawing process, accompanied by a synth soundscape by a.lange.
Mariani investigates soil as a raw material, presenting photographic soil chromatographies, a handwoven textile installation dyed with geothermal pigments, and a translucent bioplastic sheet made from gelatin, shale, and soil—questioning the durability of art in the age of climate change. Together, their works create a space for contemplation, exploring the spiritual and environmental dimensions of natural processes.
The exhibition is part of KHiO QuARTerly a public program at Akademirommet at Kunstnernes Hus hosted by the three visual departments at Oslo National Academy of Arts (KHiO) — Art & Craft, Design and the Academy of Fine Art.
