New café opens this summer
We are happy to announce a new collaboration. Kunstnernes Hus is joining forces with Juret bar to create: Kunstnernes Jur!
Published

As early as July 1st, the new bar and cafeteria will begin to take shape in the foyer and on the terrace. Together we dream of being an even more vibrant meeting place for artists, art audiences, neighbours, newcomers and those who have fond memories of long nights at the House.
Maybe there will be jazz on the lawn, family dinners around the long tables, party nights with guest DJs, and other events in the borderland of food, drink, music and art?
Most importantly, we want to foster a good atmosphere, low thresholds and big smiles.

We'll have a big opening celebration in the fall – more information to come!
Kunstnernes Hus + Juret bar = Kunstnernes Jur
Oslo's smallest jazz bar started out in a disused juice bar in Vikaterrassen. Three years and 300 concerts later, Juret bar has become an important stage for young jazz music, in addition to a vital local cultural actor in an otherwise quiet neighbourhood.
Juret has become a special little place, fueled by enthusiasm, a large network and a crowd of dedicated regulars. At the same time, Juret has had great success with serving and side programming at the Oslo Negativ photo festival in the old veterinary school two years in a row.
Juret is taking this enthusiasm and love of culture and a good atmosphere with them when revitalizing the meeting place Kunstnernes Hus. There will be a bar and café with wine, beer and food, but also a social and cultural arena for artists, culture enthusiasts, visitors and people who work or live in the area.
Kunstnernes Jur takes the best of Juret bar and mixes it with the tradition and vitality of Kunstnernes Hus. The quartet behind Juret promises an inclusive and pleasant atmosphere in the city's most beautiful functionalist building.
