Do you work with text in the cultural industries and need ideas and input, are you an artist who sometimes has to put words to their own art or do you want to express yourself more freely in the public art debate? Then this writing course with poet and author Aina Villanger is for you! This writing seminar is a new edition of the same seminar that was held in May and June.

The writing course is held on four Thursdays in October and November 2020, as well as on four Thursdays in February and March 2021:

About the seminar

This seminar is for anyone who wants to gain insight into the art of cross-disciplinary writing in nearly any text genre; shorter texts and social media, Haiku poems, essays, articles and more. The course is meant for an adult audience with a desire to immerse themselves in art and express themselves through text.

The writing course includes four weekly webinar sessions - an online seminar on the digital platform ZOOM, which participants can download free of charge, as well as individual tutorials per video or email. In the webinars, participants will read and discuss texts, as well as conduct writing exercises in dialogue with Aina Villanger.

As part of the writing art course, Villanger offers individual follow-ups with up to two feedbacks and comments on longer text works that participants are working on.

The writing art course consists of a total of 8 hours of instruction spread over four sessions, plus two individual feedback rounds and guidance on a longer text work.

The course accommodates 8 participants.

About Aina Villanger

Poet and author Aina Villanger holds the seminar. She has published two poetry collections and a prose work, Baugeid's book (2017), for which she received the Tanum women's scholarship. Villanger was awarded the Stig Sæterbakken Memorial Prize in 2019. She has previously conducted writing courses for both adults and young people at Kunstnernes Hus.

Lecture series: How to write about art?

Parallel to the writing course, the lecture series "How to write about art?" will be republished. Five experienced art writers will share their knowledge and experiences when it comes to writing about art.

The lecture series will be published on our website during the writing course, open to everyone!

  • Tuesday, October 13: Grace Tabea Tenga
    Writer, critic and danser who writes for Scenekunst, the Norwegian Shakespeare magazine, Ballade.no, Subjekt.no from a post-colonial and feminist viewpoint.
