On view

Helle Siljeholm & Ingri Fiksdal: Haunted House
07.11.25 - 21.12.25 | Skylight hall

In Haunted House, Ingri Fiksdal and Helle Siljeholm dive into the archives of Kunstnernes Hus and the building’s nearly 100-year-long history. They search for alternative narratives about the art institution in an effort to summon both the haunted and the haunting aspects of the house. Through sound, light, and performance, they create an immersive choreographic installation.

Stian Ådlandsvik: Die Pleite
07.11.25 - 21.12.25 | Skylight hall

For Die Pleite, Stian Ådlandsvik presents a series of bricollages – sculptural assemblages made from objects the artist acquired from bankruptcy estates in Norway throughout 2025. He draws attention to everyday items that have lost their place in the order of things and imbues them with new meaning. Ådlandsvik creates unexpected connections between objects and materials, as well as historical and contemporary events.

Stian Grøgaard: Pauline
07.11.25 - 11.01.26 | Ground floor

Stian Grøgaard (1956-2021) is known as a leading professor who introduced theory and philosophy to art education in Oslo, and as a writer. Less well known, however, is his artistic practice. The exhibition, curated in collaboration with author and artist Matias Faldbakken, will show a selection of paintings and drawings that highlight two signature tendencies in Grøgaard's artistic production: repeated depictions of his grandmother Pauline and in-depth studies of art historical figures.

Re-Store: Kunstnernes Hus, The Provenance of a Kunsthalle
07.11.25 - 21.12.25 | Hvilerom

This fall, the Resting Room at Kunstnernes Hus, which is located between the skylit halls, will present the institution’s 95-year history through its material histories — from building materials and technical infrastructure to exhibition history and architecture.

The display is the result of the course Re-Store: Kunstnernes Hus, The Provenance of a Kunsthalle, organized by Erik Fenstad Langdalen and Nicholas Ryan Coates at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design within the building.
