"The conversation you are going to hear in episode two of the podcast Vakkert arbeid is with Ane Hjort Guttu, visual artist and filmmaker. I have photographed several of her works, most recently the feature film Voice, which will be released in cinemas in 2023. The conversation was recorded right after we had finished shooting the film, and much of what we talk about refers loosely to issues and thoughts we had when working on that particular film.
Ane works with a number of different media, but has in recent years mainly concentrated on film and video works — from investigative documentary film to poetic fiction and everything in between. Ane is also active as a curator and writer, and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo.
Amongst other things, she has participated in the 11th Gwangju Biennale, South Korea, exhibited at the South London Gallery and the Musee de Joliette in Canada.
Her latest films are Time passes (2015), The Lost Dreams of Naoki Hayakawa (2016), Furniture isn't just furniture (2017), Manifesto (2021) and Voice (2023).
