Two Hemispheres, One Shared Struggle

A conversation on Minga for the Sea
Samtale om Minga for the Sea Foto Graciela Escorza Rasmus Madsen Berg Istvan Virag

From the northern waters of Sápmi to the coastal territories of Chile, communities are defending the sea, and reminding us that all oceans are connected.

In advance of the final weekend of Cecilia Vicuña’s Minga for the Sea, the two activist groups contributing to the exhibition, from opposite sides of the world, meet on stage in our cinema to share stories, experiences, and visions for protecting the sea that we all share.

In conversation

Red de Mujeres Originarias por la defensa del Mar with Pamela Lorena Mayorga Caro and Haydée Aguila Caro

Redd Repparfjord with Maya Hætta and Jim Ante Eriksen Sara

The conversation will be held in English, with translation by Iliana Franco from Corporación Trataico, a collective that has also connected environmental struggles across Chile and Sápmi.

Later that same evening: joint summer party at the House with Juret at Kunstnernes Hus.

Welcome!
