About the exhibition

With the arrival of summer, eight recently graduated artists within the FKDS studio grant program will host a series of duo exhibitions. Reflecting together on the different processes established during the program, each exhibition will be open to the public for one weekend. The shows will feature two artists who have shared a studio together through the program. The purpose of the Fund for Art and Design Students (FKDS) is to support students and alumni at the departments of the Academy of Arts, Crafts and Design through various scholarship schemes.

About the artists

Emilie de Rohan Birkeland (b.1991, Oslo) works with performance as well as still- and moving images in an associative manner, piecing together concrete experiences, references and objects, often relating to the domestic. She completed her MFA at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2020. In addition to being one of four organising the artist run space Destiny's in Oslo, she is a member of the artist persona Rose Hammer.

Anna Sofie Mathiasen (b. 1995, Copenhagen). Working with mixed media installations, writing, collage, film and animation she collects, investigates and mediates material and stories from the past to create new narratives and fictions around it through different forms of montage. She works with questions such as: how to reactivate material and how to reanimate it?

The exhibition series is kindly supported by Oslo Kommune, Kulturrådet and Kunstnernes Hus.
