In 2030, Kunstnernes Hus will be 100 years old. Close to the birthday celebration, the building is in a very bad state: it gets down to 5 degrees in the skylight halls in winter, it rains into the studios at the back and our beautiful terrace is sinking. Support from the state and municipality does not cover the annual operating costs, which has meant that necessary maintenance projects have not been possible. The cost of the entire rehabilitation of the house is NOK 186 million. Kunstnernes Hus is on the city antiquary's yellow list, which means that the original materials and expression must be preserved - which is expensive.
