KH JH workshop 6156

Experience our exhibitions the exhibitions Hjemsøkt hus by Helle Siljeholm & Ingri Fiksdal, Die Pleite by Stian Ådlandsvik and Pauline by Stian Grøgaard together with one of our skilled guides. Tickets can be bought at the reception desk.

About the exhibition

In Haunted House, Ingri Fiksdal and Helle Siljeholm dive into the historical archive of Kunstnernes Hus and the building’s nearly 100-year-old history. They search for alternative narratives about the art institution in an attempt to summon the haunted and haunting aspects of the house. Through sound, light, scenography, and performance, an immersive choreographic installation is created.

Stian Grøgaard (1956–2021) is known as an influential professor who introduced theory and philosophy to art education in Oslo, and as a writer. Less known, however, is his artistic practice. The exhibition, curated in collaboration with Matias Faldbakken, presents a selection of paintings and drawings that highlight two key tendencies in Grøgaard’s art: repeated depictions of his grandmother Pauline and in-depth studies of figures from art history.

This exhibition explores the material provenance of Kunstnernes Hus through investigations of building materials, technical infrastructure, lighting, maintenance systems, exhibition fixtures, and more.
