About the exhibition
The exhibition Die Pleite — which translates to bankruptcy, defeat, or zero point — explores how systems, values, and materials break down, and how something new can emerge from the ruins. During the guided tour, you’ll experience Ådlandsvik’s poetic “bricollages” — works built from objects collected from bankruptcy estates in Norway in 2025. Read more about the exhibition here.
About the workshop
After the tour, the evening continues in the workshop, where artists and ceramicists Mingxuan Tan and Helle Høeg Voldstad will lead a hands-on and experimental secondhand ceramics workshop. Here, you’ll explore how discarded porcelain objects—cups, bowls, plates, and tiles—can be transformed into something new using decals (transfer images). You’ll learn techniques for applying and combining found imagery with your own expressions. After firing, a few weeks later, you’ll be able to pick up your finished piece.
About the artist
Helle Høeg Voldstad (b. 1989, Norway) is an artist based in Oslo. She is interested in the sculptural and painterly qualities of ceramic everyday objects, drawing inspiration from the historical archive of ceramics. She holds both an MFA and BFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and has also studied at the Glasgow School of Art and Einar Granum School of Fine Art. Since 2024, she has been running a ceramics workshop Kunststallen in collaboration with Mingxuan Tan.
