Art and colloquium: Solidarity Patchwork

Saturday 13.02.21
Kunst og kollokvie

"Solidarity Patchwork" - a patchwork that can be seen, read and listened to. Join Plot/Oslo on our very own «Art and Colloquium», meet the activists behind the project and make your own contribution while you discover 40 years of solidarity history woven into one patchwork.

The event is free and open to everyone between 15-25 years.

About the Solidarity Patchwork

The "Solidarity Patchwork" is an ongoing political art project that aims to showcase The Norwegian Solidarity Committee for Latin America's (LAG) 40-year history of solidarity. The project started with an invitation from the Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) to the two LAG activists Ingrid and Astrid Fadnes. The invitation consisted of making a proposal for the exhibition Actions of Art and Solidarity at Kunstnernes Hus, which could shed light on questions about solidarity, both in the past and today.

About the event

Ingrid and Astrid Fadnes from The Norwegian Solidarity Committee for Latin America will present the patchwork quilt. Small pieces of cloth tell about micronarratives and greater stories about resistance to mining and freedom for political prisoners. Ingrid and Astrid will also talk about the different sources of inspiration for this project.

During the pandemic, around 20 "Art and Colloquium" events have been arranged, where digital spaces have been combined with political education. Plot/Oslo is now arranging its very own "Art and Colloquium". You can participate by listening or asking questions, and we encourage everyone to take out their knitting needles while doing so. If you want to fix an old wool sock, embroider something new, draw something - anything is very welcome. Plot/Oslo is a free club open to young people between 15 and 25 who want to learn more about contemporary art.

Registration

The event is free of charge and open to everyone in the age group 15-25 years, but requires registration via this form.

The number of places is limited to 20, so remember to sign up quickly! The registration deadline is 3 PM the day prior to the event. You will receive a Zoom-link once you have registered
