Tanja Orning is a renowned contemporary cellist, composer and musicologist educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music, in London and at Indiana University. She holds a doctoral degree in Performance Practice from the Academy of Music 2014. Orning was an alternating solo cellist in Stavanger Symphony Orchestra from 1994 to 2000. She has realized projects as a performer and composer, both alone (Cellotronics) and in ensembles such as asamisimasa (Spellemann 2012 and 2015), Kyberia duo, Ametri string quartet Sinfonietta, Christian Wallumrød Ensemble, Boa trio, Dr. Ox duo, Wunderkammer and the performance group Mobile Homes. Orning has commissioned and premiered over 150 works by composers in Norway and abroad. She is a postdoctoral fellow at the Academy of Music where she also teaches, as well as being an active performer.

Helga Myhr plays the Hardanger fiddle and is songwriter, educated at the Norwegian Academy of Music. She is a strong traditional bearer within solo Hardanger fiddle and has a great curiosity for the different sounds one can find in the instrument. In the fall, Myhr released the solo album "The night well out", which was nominated for the Spelleman-award. Myhr also plays in various bands and constellations such as in the Dei Kjenslevare group with composer Ole-Henrik Moe, has released two critically acclaimed records with the group Kvedark Quintet, and was involved in the debut album to the folk band Morgonrode, which is also a nominee for the Spelleman-award. Myhr is also part of the record-breaking band of singer and composer Karoline Wallace (Lang vinter).
