How can philanthropy and strategic partnerships enhance artistic ambition without compromising institutional integrity? May Calil (Marks | Calil) will speak about how institutions can strengthen the interplay between culture, philanthropy, and the business sector. She will explore international trends in philanthropy and draw connections to the Norwegian cultural landscape.
May Calil is Co-founder of MarksCalil, a strategic advisory firm that helps museums and art organisations make decisions with clarity and confidence. She has extensive experience in business development, change management and governance. A highly respected strategist, she has worked on development projects for major museums including Tate and the Royal Academy, and led Cromwell Place from concept to launch. She is Chair of the Board of Trustees of Chisenhale Gallery and serves on the boards of Earshot and Friends of Leighton House.
