What happens to the way a private mobile phone photo is perceived when it is moved into an exhibition context and presented behind glass and in a frame?
In visual artist Christian Tunge’s Risograph workshop, we work with the concept of the "archive" in a broad sense. This could involve images from a magazine, screenshots from TikTok, family albums, an old postcard, or a random image found online. Through Risograph printing, we explore how images can be removed from their original context, manipulated, and assembled in new ways.

About the workshop
In this workshop, you will learn about Risograph printing through the lens of Tunge’s artistic practice. Using both your own and found imagery, you will work with cropping, halftones, color, repetition, and layering. The workshop is not primarily about creating "good" individual images, but rather about what happens when existing images are moved, enlarged, reduced, repeated, and brought into contact with other images.
No prior experience is required—only a desire to learn about Risograph printing and how Tunge works with this technique.
