About the project
On August 13, the artist-run project Objective Editions: Books, prints and videotapes opened in Mellomrommet on the ground floor of Kunstnernes Hus. Objektiv Editions is a publishing house and project room with a focus on camera-based art, run by artist and editor Nina Strand and Objektiv publishing house. In collaboration with Kunstnernes Hus, Objektiv will for a limited period exhibit books about and with camera-based art, show video works and sell photographic editions in extension of Kunstnernes Hus' bookstore.
The temporary project room will invite to various events such as the launch of new publications and talks on camera-based media. At the opening, the audience could see presentations of two publications, both of which contain artistic adaptations of the ongoing pandemic. In the publication Dette Året, the editors Sofie Amalie Klougart and Christian Belgaux have invited 53 Norwegian contemporary photographers to visually document the corona pandemic. The opening also featured the launch of Objective # 23 Visual Wanderings, created especially for Objective's online journal, an international photo relay about the pandemic year with Norwegian and international camera-based artists. The Norwegian artist Sara Larsen Stiansen has in this connection developed the film Out of Love which will be shown in space, in addition to a photographic work by the American artist Carmen Winant.
