Nordisk tekstiltriennale

Nordic textile triennial
The Nordic Textile Triennale was initiated in 1976 as a unified project by textile artists in the Nordic countries. It is a traveling exhibition of tapestries, textile sculptures and other free forms of textile expressions.
The Nordic Textile Triennale is open to all textile artists resident in the Nordic countries. In every country a jury consisting of three textile artists judges the submitted works from their country, and the selected textiles are then collected at the exhibition. Every country has in advance been given a quota regarding the allowed number of works, since the total amount of works is limited.
A group of textile artists in every country takes care of all the basic tasks regarding the Triennale. The groups provide for the daily duties, the election of jury-members, the arrangement of the exhibition in their own country in co-operation with the museums, and the printing of catalogue and poster.
The Nordic Textile Triennale is financially supported by the Nordic governments during The Nordic Cultural Foundation.
