Jeremy Deller is the third artist out in our new filmscreening series entitled SILVER SERIES, where international artists who work with film and video are presented in the form of mini-retrospectives. The Turner Prize-winning artist was Britain's representative at the Venice Biennale in 2013, and is behind a number of prestigious public missions. The films to be shown at Kunstnernes Hus range from 2001 to 2018 and are characterised by the artist's unique ability to merge past and present, facts and fiction, through the compilation of images, stories, objects and music.
Deller will be present at the opening, in conversation with author and critic Rob Young prior to the screenings of English Magic (2013) and Everybody In The Place, An Incomplete History of Britain 1984-1992 (2018)

About the artist
Jeremy Deller (b. 1966, London, UK) lives and works in London. He studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London (1988) and at the University of Sussex, Brighton (1992). In 2004 Deller was the recipient of the Turner Prize. He was included in the 2007 Münster Sculpture Project, Münster, and represented Britain in the 55th Venice Biennial in 2013. His work has been shown in leading museums and biennials including the 2016 and 2010 São Paolo Biennale, São Paolo; The Infinitely Variable Ideal of the Popular, University Museum of Contemporary Art, (MUAC), Mexico City (2015), Directions: Jeremy Deller, Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C.
