Jeremy Deller er tredje kunstner ut i husets nye satsning SILVER SERIES, hvor vi presenterer internasjonale kunstnere som arbeider med film og video i form av miniretrospektive presentasjoner. Den Turner pris-vinnende kunstneren var Storbritannias representant under Venezia-biennalen i 2013, og står bak en rekke prestisjetunge offentlige oppdrag. Filmene som skal vises på Kunstnernes Hus spenner fra 2001 til 2018, og kjennetegnes av kunstnerens unike evne til å flette sammen fortid og nåtid, fakta og fiksjon, gjennom sammenstillingen av bilder, historier, objekter og musikk.
Til åpningen fredag 18. januar kl 19:00 kommer Deller selv for en samtale med forfatter og kritiker Rob Young før visningen av English Magic (2013) og Everybody In The Place, An Incomplete History of Britain 1984-1992 (2018). Dørene åpner 18:45.

About the artist
Jeremy Deller (b. 1966, London, UK) lives and works in London. He studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London (1988) and at the University of Sussex, Brighton (1992). In 2004 Deller was the recipient of the Turner Prize. He was included in the 2007 Münster Sculpture Project, Münster, and represented Britain in the 55th Venice Biennial in 2013. His work has been shown in leading museums and biennials including the 2016 and 2010 São Paolo Biennale, São Paolo; The Infinitely Variable Ideal of the Popular, University Museum of Contemporary Art, (MUAC), Mexico City (2015), Directions: Jeremy Deller, Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C. (2014); English Magic, British Pavilion, Giardini de Castello, Venice Biennale, Venice (2013) which toured to the Mumbai Art Room, Mumbai, William Morris Gallery, London, Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Bristol, and Turner Contemporary, Margate; Joy In People, Hayward Gallery, London (2012) which traveled to Wiels Centre for Contemporary Art, Brussels, Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, and Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis; Manifesta 9, Waterschei, Genk, Limburg, Belgium (2012); September 11, MoMA PS1, New York (2011); It Is What It Is: Conversations About Iraq, The New Museum, New York (2009) which toured to the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles and Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; and Jeremy Deller, Kunstverein, Munich (2005).
