Born on 4 November 1907. Debut at the Autumn Exhibition 1933, member of the Corner and Autumn Exhibition in 1941, guest at Grønningen 1937-39, now member of the Decembrists.

Henry Heerup is an artist of free will, the fabulator - the cultivator of the joy of life. Is there something we need more of in the winter darkness of Norway? We welcome this lush and warming impulse from Denmark, and wish that we could all learn a little from Heerup's ability to see the possibilities of things and to animate inanimate things. We assume that Heerup's exhibition speaks for itself, but should anyone want further information about him, we refer to editor Preben Wilmann's article about him in Kunsten I dag recently.
