ARNE STØMNE

Arne Stømne was born in Bærum in 1918.

Student of and the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts under Prof. Åge Storstein.

Participated in the National Autumn Exhibition since 1952. Study trips to Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Germany. Italy and Spain.

Represented in Nasjonalgalleriet, Riksgalleriet, Norsk Kulturråd, Lillehammer faste galieri, Kristiansand faste galleri. Skien Billedgalleri. Stavanger faste galleri. Moss faste galleri. Larvik faste galleri.

In private collections at home and abroad. Biennale in Sao Paolo 1959.

Nordic exhibition in Iceland in 1961. The World's Fair in Australia 1968.

Scholarships:

1951: 3 % work grant.

1952: Grosserer Th. Henrichsens legat.

1955: U.K.S. work grant.

1956: Namdalsstipendet, Fondet for Dansk- Norsk Samarbeid.

1958: State employment grant.

1959: State artist scholarship.

1962: 3% Government travel grant.

1965: State artist scholarship for 3 years.
