Alf Lundby

Alf Lundeby exhibited at Kunstnernes hus in 1951 as a continuation of his retrospective exhibition in Lillehammer. The artist exhibited many paintings where several of them had motifs from his hometown Lillehammer, and a handful had motifs from Italy, where he lived from 1897-99.
The exhibition was parallel to the exhibition of Trygve Torkildsen.

The Board of Directors at Kunstnernes Hus warmly welcomes the two new exhibitors.
Last spring, Alf Lundeby celebrated his 80th anniversary with a large retrospective exhibition in Lillehammer, and we are pleased to be able to show this exhibition in Oslo, considering Lundeby, with his quiet modesty, has not exhibited any significant part of his production in Oslo for many years. He belongs first and foremost to the unique art environment in Lillehammer, where he is today one of the last old ones. When we now see sections of his artistic development from the 1890s, however, we will meet a distinctive talent, a sincere worshiper of nature who has a significant place not only in Lillehammer, but in the entire Norwegian art life.
Trygve Torkildsen is of a younger generation, he was born in 1899, but he is also not among those who exhibit often. With his previously fine and sensitive landscapes and distinctive figure compositions in mind, it is therefore with great excitement that we look forward to this pattern of images from the last 10 years.
At the same time, let us send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has lent photos to the two exhibitions.
