Viktor Pedersen
Viktor Pedersen (b. 1988) works interdisciplinary with film, text, sound and sculpture. In his artistic practice, he is interested in asking questions about human autonomy, and showing that what we experience as "I" is not in control to the extent we might think. By exploring different subjectivities that inhabit the human body, both living and dead, he looks at the driving forces that help shape our lives. A work that often reflects on theory of consciousness, power dynamics in nature, and the decentralization of human understanding.
Pedersen has an MFA from the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts in 2020, and a BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tromsø in 2016. Recent solo exhibitions include Navlebeskue at Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo (2024), Dancing With Dionysos at Galleri Memphis, Oslo (2022) and The Skin, A Border, at Studio 17, Stavanger (2021). He has participated in a number of group exhibitions, including Earthworks at Bergen Kunsthall (2024), Screen City Biennale, Berlin (2022), Festspillene i Nord-Norge, Harstad (2021), and Høstutstillingen at Kunstnernes Hus (2020). He is the founder and organizer of the interdisciplinary platform Wild Seeds.
