Open riso workshop
Monday 03.03.25

On March 3rd we celebrate the opening of our new Riso workshop at Kuntnernes Hus, and you are hereby invited. Workshop manager Johan Andrén will assist the audience and inform them about what the Riso workshop can offer. We will serve drinks and snacks, and there will be practice tasks with a low threshold. Suitable for all artists and anyone else who likes to express themselves creatively on paper, wants to cultivate a network and get affordable access to a Riso printer. Welcome!
About our Riso workshop
During this spring and autumn we hold an open riso workshop and creative hang out on the first Monday of each month. This is for those of you who want to learn more about and explore the magical possibilities of the riso technique. In addition to the monthly open workshop, we will also offer riso workshops in collaboration with various artists over the next three years. Hope to see you on March 3rd.
Open riso workshop is a new and creative joint workshop that is open for experimentation and exploration of risography. For those of you who need access to a riso duplicator for production, we offer rental of the machine with a workshop foreman at artist-friendly prices. Discounted prices for members! For more information about rental contact: formidling@kunstnerneshus.no
What is risography
Risography is an environmental-friendly and sustainable graphic printing method performed with a digital stencil duplicator, characterized by bright colors. These colors are printed layer by layer, and can be reminiscent of screen printing or offset, but the ink is based on soybeans or rice and biodegradable. The Riso machine uses little electricity, as unlike other laser printers it does not need to heat up. Risography is a cost-effective method, which can produce quality prints without major financial burdens. Unlike toner-based printers, Riso printers are free from ozone emissions, toner particle emissions, silica dust and other air pollutants. Riso printers do not emit greenhouse gases.
Thanks to Sparebankstiftelsen DNB for making the project possible.
