Tour and drawing workshop in the exhibition BLINK by Tuda muda

For everyone between 18-25
Tuda Muda Mathilde Velvin 4 web

Plot/Oslo invites you to an exclusive curatorial tour of Tuda Muda's film installation BLINK. Curator and director of Kunstnernes Hus, Sarah Lookofsky, will talk about Tuda Muda's work and the process behind this exhibition, and there will be an opportunity for questions along the way.

After the conversation, we invite you to a drawing workshop under the guidance of our communication coordinator, visual artist Annika Simonsson. Like Tuda Muda, we will explore the properties of charcoal and work layer by layer with different techniques and materials. We will try out how different techniques can be combined and how they affect each other through composition, contrasts and texture. You do not need any prior knowledge, only the desire to participate. Welcome!

About the exhibition

The film installation moves between public and private space, seeing and being seen, fact and fantasy, powerlessness and power. A large charcoal drawing comes to life via a projection of a short film that combines drawn animation with footage filmed in India – a context where violence against women has been both widespread and a starting point for extensive activism. The film is told from the perspective of a young woman who experiences sexual harassment in public space and who imagines reversing the gendered balance of power that still characterizes private, public and digital spheres.

The installation includes drawings by the artist who formed the basis for the film’s animations.

Tuda Muda / Samrridhi Kukreja (b. 1991, Delhi, India) lives and works in Trondheim. She works mainly with drawing, video and installation, and is known for her detailed drawings that combine depictions of the female body with the bodily experience of inhabiting it.
