Plot/Oslo: Studio visit with Eli Mai Huang Nesse
Thursday 29.08.24
On the occasion of Eli Mai Huang Nesse's upcoming exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus, which opens in mid-November, Plot/Oslo invites you to visit her studio in Strømsveien in Alna, with a tour by the artist herself and insight into some of the preparations for the exhibition. The event has limited places, here the first-come, first-served principle applies!
About the exhibition
How do you deal with the fact that everything can suddenly come crashing down? Eli Mai Huang Nesse (b. 1992, Sogndal) examines the need for shortcuts and how one prevents accidents - to maintain hope, feel in control and secure. Currently, Eli collects stories from people who have been trapped by landslides, visits roads that are closed due to avalanche danger and travels into the core of mountains to film tunnel workers. Eli has an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo (2022) and a BFA from the Royal the Academy of Arts in Stockholm (2018). Her work has been shown at, among others, the annual Autumn Exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus, ABF-huset (SE), Bergen International Film Festival, Galleri Blunk and Isotop project room.
