Kunstnernes Hus Jan Khur Felix 9563

In week 40, we hold an autumn holiday course, where the children get to learn about image composition and how to combine different techniques in magical and surprising ways. We print the pictures on textiles such as T-shirts, tote bags, canvas etc. under the guidance of professional visual artists.

Times

Kurs 1: 4.-5. October - fully booked!

Kurs 2: 6.-7. October

About the workshop

Over two days you will get an introduction to basic compositional principles, collage, drawing and writing techniques and digital printing on textiles. You will be introduced to artists who have worked and work with similar techniques and can be influenced in your own work.

What you'll need

No prior knowledge is required, but we expect you to have an interest in drawing and design. Day two, everyone must bring a cotton fabric to print on. This must be able to be laid flat and can be, for example, a used T-shirt, a cloth tote bag or a piece of fabric you want to give new life to.

What you'll learn

You will learn about image composition and how to combine different techniques and the drawn line in combination with cut-out images and found material. During the course we will work with different types of drawing tools, paper, scraps and found material. You will be introduced to techniques that you can explore further on their own, but also learn how to give new life to old textiles instead of buying new and, thus contributing to a more sustainable world.
