About the film
Crying Man is a one-take from the shooting of Jorunn Myklebust Syversen's feature film Hoggeren (2017), shown as a separate video work. Parts of the film are also in a scene in the feature film.
About the filmmaker
Jorunn Myklebust Syversen (b. 1978), graduated from the Bergen Academy of the Arts with a Diploma, Dept. The Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, and has since worked as a filmmaker in the field between art and film. She has participated in a number of exhibitions, screenings and festivals, both nationally and internationally, with self-produced video works and short films. Syversen's first feature film Hoggeren came to Norwegian cinemas in the spring of 2017, with Anders Baasmo Christiansen in the leading role and Maria Ekerhovd in Mer Film as a producer. In the autumn of 2019, the feature film DISCO, starring Josefine Frida, was launched worldwide with a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Syversen is currently working on developing her third feature film Patience, still in collaboration with Ekerhovd and Mer Film.
