About the film

Wong Chi-ming, a cold-blooded Hong-Kong-based assassin, finally decides that he wants to quit his profession. Only one last job stands in the way of a new life. The movie follows the in's and out's of his job and his partner in crime.

About the filmmaker

Wong Kar-wai (b. 1956) is one of Hong Kong's Second Wave filmmakers, internationally renowned as an auteur for his visually unique, highly stylised, emotionally resonant works. Wong was the first Chinese director to win the Best Director Award of Cannes Film Festival (for his work Happy Together in 1997). Wong's films frequently feature protagonists who yearn for romance in the midst of a knowingly brief life and scenes that can often be described as sketchy, digressive, exhilarating, and containing vivid imagery.
