Abus de Confiance à Bruxelles

Kjersti G. Andvig in conversation with Birgitte Sigmundstad
Wednesday 10.11.21

Welcome to artist Kjersti G. Andvig's latest film, an autobiographical video essay from Brussels! About the sense of belonging, Europe and the formations of 'new' identity communities. After the screening, there will be a conversation between the artist and director and visual artist Birgitte Sigmundstad.

About the film

An autobiographical video essay from the center of Europe, Brussels. The film extends over a period of five years until now. We follow the narrator in their encounters with different personalities who express different identities and life situations in a globalized reality, where belonging and homelessness are intersecting concepts. We meet artists, homosexuals, undocumented refugees and Eurocrats, who with their different perspectives have to deal with conditions over which they may have less control than they want to acknowledge.

The work is supported by the Visual Artists' Remuneration Fund, the Norwegian Photographic Fund, the Cultural Council and the Fund for Sound and Vision.
