Samliv - en informativ kunstutstilling

UKS spring exhibit - Cohabitation
"Samliv" and collective exhibition in Kunstnernes Hus. "Blomster og Bier" and "Miniatyrer" in UKS.
Unge Kunstneres Samfund was founded on 28 October 1921 and today has approx. 600 members living all over the country.
The association's primary task is to work for the young, unestablished artists. Debut exhibitions therefore largely characterize our business, and many well-known artists have had their first exhibition with us.
The spring exhibition is our most important annual gathering and was first held in 1956 in Kunstnernes Hus, where (apart from 1968) it was an annual guest until 1970. Since then it has been held alternately in Oslo and other Norwegian cities. This year we are back at Kunstnernes Hus with a large collective exhibition that includes painting, textiles, graphics, drawing and sculpture.
As part of the Spring Exhibition, we have also chosen to show the exhibition "Coexistence" from Bergen. "Coexistence" represents a new and unconventional form of exhibition where art and medical information mutually illustrate each other. "Coexistence" is art in the service of public information, and we hope to also reach new audience groups with it. In Oslo, "Samliv" is supplemented with new works by UKS members, and the event takes place in collaboration with MSO (Medisinernes Seksualopplysning) and the Working Group in Bergen.
Parallel to the exhibitions in Kunstnernes Hus, the themed exhibitions are shown "Flowers and Bees" and "Miniatures" in UKS' own premises in Rådhusgt. 19.
Vennlig hilsen Unge Kunstneres Samfund
