29.04.67 – 15.05.67
Rigmor Holter

In the spring of 1967, before what would become known as "the summer of love", Kunstnernes Hus had an exhibition with the Norwegian painter Rigmor Holter. 73 oil paintings painted over seven years from 1960 to 1967 were exhibited.

Rigmor Holter (1906 - 2004) was a Norwegian painter educated at the Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole and the Statens Academy of Arts, in addition to having apprenticed with André Lhote. Holter mainly worked in the techniques of oil and watercolour, and her motifs were dominated by landscapes and cityscapes, and she also painted nature pictures and portraits. From the 60s, Holter began to abstract his paintings, and the landscapes eventually consisted of geometric surfaces. Between 1945 and 1875 she also ran her own private painting school.
