Pola Gauguin, Frøydis Haavardsholm, Blomster og Stilleben

In December 1933, Kunstnernes Hus presented a three-part exhibition. This exhibition contained works by Pola Gauguin and Frøydis Haavardsholm, in addition to the themed exhibition Flowers and Still Life.
Pola Gauguin
Pola Gauguin was a Norwegian painter who was born in Paris and grew up in Copenhagen. He was a writer and art critic in Tidenes Tegn, Dagbladet and Verdens Gang (VG). In 1917 he founded a popular painting school in Oslo which he led until 1924.
The exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus presented over 80 works from the period 1910 to 1933 by Gauguin. He had exhibited at the Autumn Exhibition a number of times, including a self-portrait, Self-Portrait (1932) the year before, which was also exhibited on this occasion.
Frøydis Haavardsholm
Frøydis Haavardsholm is a Norwegian artist known for her illustrations and stained glass windows, she also designed priest's clothing. In 1931 to 1933, Haavardsholm was a permanent member of the supervisory board for Kunstnernes Hus. In 1953 she also received the King's Medal of Merit in gold for her work.
Frøydis Haavardsholm's Drawings for Hans-Henrik Holm "Jonsok night" was an exhibition based on Haavardsholm's illustrations. Haavardsholm had made these illustrations for Hans-Henrik Holm's poem Jonsoknatt, which was published the same year. Various parts of the illustration work, such as sketches, drawings, prints and equipment were exhibited in the three-part exhibitionBlomster og Stilleben
The exhibition Flowers and Still Life included a number of artists' interpretations of the classic motifs of still life and flowers. Many of these artists had previously debuted or exhibited work at the annual Autumn Exhibition.
