About the exhibition
This exhibition featured works by Abrahamsson ranging from 1919 through 1939, a total of 114 works, many of which had motifs from Northern Norway. He grew up in Bodø, with a strong connection to this part of the country.
About the artist
Ola Abrahamsson (1883-1980) came to Kristiania in 1908 and began his artistic education in 1909 at Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole / Statens Kunstakademi, Oslo. He made his debut at Høstutsillingen in 1912 with Old Stable and had his first solo exhibition in 1913. In 1914 he was one of "The 11 free young artists" at Blomqvists Kunsthandel, and the same year he participated in the Jubilee Exhibition. Abrahamsson received consistently good reviews in the press. He is represented in the National Museum with Autumn in the Forest (1911).
