Lilla Hellesen
The exhibition Lilla Hellesen, graphics was shown at Kunstnernes Hus in the spring of 1963. Here you could experience 67 graphic works in the lithography technique. This was Hellesen's last exhibition, as she died in October of the same year, aged just 61.
About the artist
Lilla Hellesen (1902-1963) was a Norwegian draftsman and lithographer. Hu studied at the Norwegian School of Crafts and Art Industry and the Norwegian Academy of Arts. She participated in the autumn exhibition in 1924, and her actual debut is considered the Paris Salon in 1927. Hellesen held her first solo exhibition at the Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo, and later exhibited in Brussels, Paris, New York and London, among others. She is best known for her lithographs, which are characterized by romantic, dreamy natural atmospheres.
Lilla Hellesen is represented at, among others, the National Museum, the British Museum, the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Statens Museum for Art in Copenhagen.
