Henry Moore

Retrospective exhibit
Two years ago we experienced the magnificent exhibition "Most British". It introduced us to the fine tradition in British art that ranges from Hogarth to Constable and Turner. Quite naturally, we have gone with the desire to also exchange acquaintances with newer British artists, the late heirs of the great masters. It is therefore a great pleasure for us at this exhibition to be able to present the most famous of these artists - Henry Moore. To a greater extent than most, he has contributed to the development of sculpture - not only in Great Britain, but throughout Europe, and we believe that our audience will enthusiastically use the opportunity to, through his simplified, abstractly emphasized figures, come across the elementary and general sculptural problems into life.
We allow ourselves to express our best thanks for this exhibition first and foremost to The British Council, represented in Olso by Mr. David Thomas who has helped us with the greatest patience and with a personal and deep joy of art. Likewise, we thank those who, by standing as members of the exhibition's honorary committee, help to cast its rightful shine on it.
The board of Kunstnernes hus.
