About the exhibition

The French Sculpture exhibition opened at the same time as the Reidar Aulie exhibition, and the catalog is common to both. This was an exhibition of modern French sculpture with works by the young sculptors Paul Cornet, Marcel Damboise, Roger de la Fresnaye, Pablo Gargallo, Charles Malfray and Jean Osouf. The works were mostly small objects in bronze, but Gargallo had works in iron such as a bust of Greta Garbo and a statuette of David with a harp. In his review of Kunstnernes hus exhibition, Finn Nielssen, a reviewer for Dagbladet magazine thanked the Kunstnernes hus for having recently acquired several interesting French exhibitions (Dagbladet, Saturday, March 25, 1939).
