Belgisk kunst 1948

In 1948, there was an exhibition of Belgian art at Kunstnernes Hus. The exhibition is described in the exhibition catalog as part of the cultural cooperation between Belgium and Norway. It was a traveling exhibition that was first shown in Helsinki. It was intended to illustrate the development of Belgian art over the last hundred years, through the display of some carefully selected works produced by artists who have left their mark on Belgian art. The exhibition included painting, etching and sculpture.

The artists were: Louis Artan, Henri de Braekeleer, Alfred Bastien, Paul-Jean Clays, Paul Deuvaux, James Ensor, Henri Evenepol, Louis Gallait, Eugène Laermans, Constant Permeke, Jacob Smits, Jan Stobbaerts, Louis Thvenet, Gustave van de Woestyne, Rik Wouters, Jules de Bruycker, Georges Grard, Constantin Meunier, George Minne, Jef Lambeaux, Victor Rousseau.
