Avgangsutstillingen

The graduating students of the master's program in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts at the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts are once again invited into the two skylight rooms "spring" and "autumn" in the Kunstnernes Hus. Throughout their time as students, the 21 artists who define this year's Graduation Exhibition 2014 have been important components of Oslo's art scene through exhibitions, projects, publications and international achievements - and will continue to be so wherever they choose to settle down. The master's students choose their curator for the graduation exhibition, and this year it is Anne Szefer Karlsen, head of the Hordaland art center in Bergen, who has accepted the challenge.
About avgangsutstillingen
As you climb the stairs at Kunstnerens Hus to enter the exhibition, you will be able to experience the 22-metre-long fresco on the ceiling from 1931-32, which depicts "the artist's thorny path towards the heights" by Per Krogh, who was a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts from 1946 until 1958. This is one of the permanent reminders of the two institutions' close ties. "Avgangsutstillingen 2014" is one of the many program items throughout the year at Kunstnernes Hus which consolidates the two institutions' cooperation and contribution to the lively art scene in Oslo. The Art Academy is one of six faculties at the Oslo Academy of Arts, Norway's leading educational institution for artists and designers. The Academy of Fine Arts offers education at bachelor's and master's level in visual arts, and takes an active part in Oslo's art scene through close collaboration with Kunstnerens Hus and the public.
