About the exhibition
The graduation exhibition is one of many program items throughout the year at Kunstnernes Hus, which further consolidates the two institutions' collaboration and contribution to the art scene in Oslo. Throughout their time as students, the 14 artists who define this year's Graduation Exhibition 2015 (29 May – 14 June 2015) have been important components of Oslo's art scene through exhibitions, projects, publications and international achievements - and will continue to be so wherever they choose to settle down.
The exhibition title is borrowed from a poem by the Norwegian writer Tor Ulven (1953–1995), and refers to the process the students have undergone during their studies. In connection with the graduation exhibition, the students have jointly produced a hand-made archive folder containing artistic contributions related to the graduation works. The archive has a limited edition and is for sale at the reception at Kunstnernes Hus.
The Art Academy was established in 1909 and is today one of six faculties at the Oslo Academy of Arts, Norway's largest educational institution for artists and designers. The Academy of Fine Arts offers education at bachelor's and master's level in visual arts, and takes an active part in Oslo's art scene through a close collaboration with Kunstnernes Hus and the public, for example Open Forum, the Academy Room and FKDS (Fund for art and design students) studio grant for former graduates.
During the exhibition period, various activities will take place, including performances, guided tours in the Castle Park and sessions in the exhibition at night
The curator for this year's graduation exhibition is Jenny Kinge.
