Alf Løvberg

In 1960, Kunstnernes Hus had the pleasure of presenting an exhibition with Alf Løvberg (1899-1986). The exhibition consisted of 51 works, created in the years 1953 to 1959.
About the artist
Alf Løvberg was born in 1899 and was a Norwegian painter. His works are characterized by simple shapes and a muted color scale. There is often a melancholic mood in his works, mixed with humor. There are often large and simple figures as motifs.
Løvberg also created works with natural landscapes, preferably Danish nature. He was taught by Axel Jørgensen, a Danish painter, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1937.
