About the workshop

Do you have a cartoonist in you? Are you looking for ways to tell your story or do you just want to learn something new, meet an artist and hear about the way he works? Then this workshop with artist, writer and cartoonist Anders Kvammen is for you. The workshop provides insight into the cartoon as an artistic expression. You will have the opportunity to explore tools and methods for creating your own cartoon, from idea and sketch to ready-made frames, under the guidance of Kvammen.

All materials and tools are included in the price. We offer coffee, tea and fruit throughout the day.

Anders Kvammen

Anders N. Kvammen (b. 1985) was born and raised in Oslo. For a number of years, he has contributed both shorter and longer comics to various magazines and newspapers in addition to publishing his own books. In 2016, he published his first book, "Ungdomsskolen". The book won the Brage prize for best children's and youth book and was also nominated for the Nordic Council's literature prize in the same category. Last year it was set up as a theater at Tigerstadsteatret / Oslo Nye teater. In 2020 came the comic book "Jobb" won gold in Grafill's competition, The year's most beautiful books. In 2021, the book "I don't remember - Stories about dementia" was published. Kvammen has a background from Einar Granum art school and is also active as an illustrator.

The workshop is the first in a series of three workshops and artist meetings that Kunstnernes Hus offers during autumn 2022 and spring 2023. The workshops are aimed at anyone over the age of 15.
