Riso and writing workshop with Lisa Him-Jensen

Riso Him Jensen

Welcome to a course that is half writing workshop and half risograph workshop! This course is aimed at anyone interested in writing who is also interested in—or curious about—working with a risograph. During the workshop, participants will write and print a one-sheet artist’s book, exploring the possibilities available within the constraints of a limited format.

About the workshop

In the first part of the workshop, Lisa Him-Jensen will guide participants through various writing exercises designed to spark creativity. We will work spontaneously and exploratively, focusing on the immediate moment, chance occurrences, discoveries, and the unexpected. The material generated during these sessions will form the content of the book.

In the second part of the workshop, Lisa provides a brief introduction to the Risograph and demonstrates how to lay out a simple book made from a single sheet of paper. We will look at various options, select colors, and explore the possibilities of the format. We will also examine examples of artist’s books and zines for inspiration. Finally, we will print, fold, and finish the books.

In this course, we use the limited time and format as a driving force in the creative process. All participants will be able to take home their own copies of the book.
