About Apocalypzzz

Apocalypzzz is a meditation on the paralysis of the millennial generation facing natural disasters like SARS2 and climate collapse. While the premise of existence itself is compromised the postmodern mind retreats into his cocoon, creating a veil of pixels to obscure a truth too reminiscent of the narratives from Hollywood they grew up with, they retreat into the game. Here the cycle is intact and the body can distance itself from the mind in an introspection of ennui. Only a virtual now, now, now. Reality itself becomes unheeded.

About The Play of Everyman

Østbye's latest film provides a unique insight into Norway's first climate lawsuit. In 2016, Norwegian environmental organizations sued the Norwegian state because they believed that the state's permits for oil extraction in the Barents Sea were contrary to the environmental clause (Constitution § 112) - a clause intended to ensure our and future generations' right to a liveable climate. The case was referred to as the trial of the century and led to great public debate.

The film objectively reflects upon whether Norway is responsible for protecting nature and the climate. As a viewer, you become part of the audience in the lawsuit, where boundaries between law and politics are fluid. The documentary was filmed exclusively in the courtroom in Borgarting Court of Appeal 2019 and in the Supreme Court House 2020. The 31-minute film is based on about 100 hours of trial.

The film shows that we live in a system that is mass-destructive - even self-destructive - and that it is possible for you to do evil deeds just by doing your job.

About Filmskaper møter filmskaper

Filmmaker meets filmmaker is a series of in-depth conversations between filmmakers about production methods and artistic processes in film. One filmmaker is at the center of every conversation and we often show film clips along the way. By bringing together filmmakers with different backgrounds and approaches to film, we want to emphasize the diversity of methods and processes.
