Return to Seoul

By Davy Chou
27.08.23 – 30.08.23

Return to Seoul takes us on a beautiful journey to Seoul in South Korea, and is an intense and vulnerable portrait of exploring one's own identity.

About the film

Freddie is a young independent woman born in South Korea, but raised by adoptive parents in Paris. She's tough, almost somewhat cynical in her encounters with others, and never turns down an invite to party. On a whim she decides to change her trip from Tokyo to Seoul, and thereby ending up in her country of birth for the first time since her adoption, trigging her desire to find out more about her origin. This leads to a series of processes within her and around her, which will change her life forever.

About the filmmaker

Davy Chou (b. 1984) is a French Cambodian filmmaker, he's produced and directed several films which have been screened at festivals internationally, such as the Berlin International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival og Cannes.
