Join a free animation workshop and learn how to create animations directly on a film reel! Draw, scrape and colour to create cool effects completely without a camera. You can watch your finished film on a 16mm film projector.

This event is a collaboration between the Oslo Cinematheque and Kunstnernes Hus Cinema.

About the workshop

Or how about drawing pictures for a pre-film animation device, the famous zoetrope? Learn how to make simple cartoon drawings and explore how a classic zoetrope works! You will get a unique experience of how you can create animated motion, using many slightly different images shown rapid one after the other.
