"Woman Unknown" (Kvinne ukjent) is an intense psychological drama about Marie, a young woman who, during the fateful liberation days of May 1945, desperately tries to hide her past relationship with a German soldier for fear of the consequences. As the euphoria of freedom sweeps across the country, Danish enthusiasm turns into a thirst for revenge, vigilantism, and public trials, with the bodies of the so-called "German girls" (tyskertøser) targeted as visible symbols of collective retribution and public shame.
