The film won the Special Jury Award for Creative Storytelling at the Sundance Film Festival. This is the first time a documentary by a Norwegian director has competed in Sundance, and the film has been met with great critical acclaim.

About the film
Desperate for answers about the theft of her two paintings, a Czech artist seeks out and befriends the career criminal who stole them. After inviting her thief to sit for a portrait, the two form an improbable relationship and an inextricable bond that will forever link these lonely souls.
About the filmmaker
Benjamin Ree (b. 1989) has created 15 short documentaries, including Dreaming of the Golden Eagle, which premiered at International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in 2012. His first feature documentary, Magnus (2016), about the best chess player in the world, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016 and was sold to 64 countries.
