Cléo from 5 to 7
Sunday 15.05.22
A film that captures the restlessness of a time marked by both existential and political desperation.
About the film
The French New Wave taught the world different ways to make movies. Agnès Varda’s classic follows a young pop singer waiting for biopsy results that she is convinced will bring the worst possible news.
The time between 5 to 7 stretches out like an eternity for Cléo (Corinne Marchand), colouring every aspect of her day and her view of life. Her work, casual encounters, overheard conversations and a chance encounter with a young soldier provide passing distractions and pause for thought in an enchanting tale that captures a vibrant sense of Paris in the 1960s.
